School History
Berk Trade and Business SChool, with a facility conveniently accessible to students throughout the greater New York area, was founded in 1945 by Irving Berk. The School was established in response to the emerging needs of the trade industry for trained individuals who otherwise would not have the opportunity to be trained without the aid of organized unions.
During the first years of its establishment, the School's primary offering was instruction in the Building Trades, most notably in the field of Plumbing and later expanded to include the Electrical trades.
